The only thing worse than finding out you've been rejected from a big job you're applying for on Christmas Eve? Getting fired from the job you already have on Christmas Eve! And that's what happened to Chicago Bulls coach Scott Skiles yesterday. He had the Bulls, whom I guess were supposed to be good this year, to a 9-16 start, and that will usually do it. But that's not the point: Call me old-fashioned, but isn't it really rude to fire somebody on Christmas Eve? You think this guy or his family is going to have any resemblance of an enjoyable holiday now? I mean, will it really kill the team that much to just wait two days and do it on the 26th so his family can at least have a relaxing Christmas? It just reeks of being unethical to me.
With that out of the way, on behalf of all the Sports Fountainhead writers I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! Or if you don't celebrate Christmas, Merry Tuesday, and enjoy your Chinese food.
