I've decided that since the BCS is a nightmare this year (even more than any other year) that I would conduct my own experiment. I'm having a playoff...with NCAA Football 08 simulations! I know it is a stretch and it means nothing but it will be fun. I have taken the Sports Fountainhead top 16 teams (see poll on right) and created a bracket. Since we have so many ties, including two teams at 16, there will be a few tiebreakers and one play-in game. The play-in game will be between Tennessee and Boise State. This will be an actual simulated game that counts. For the other ties in the rankings (Oklahoma/LSU, Kansas/Georgia, Florida/Missouri) there will also be simulated game between the two opponents but the game doesn't actually count; it's as if there were another tiebreaker and the seeds were decided before the tournament. Got it? Good. There is a picture below with the final bracket after play-in results. The first round of games will be held at the lower seeds home stadium. The same will be true for round two. However, the Final Four will be held at the four BCS bowls. This year's host of the National Championship will be at "The Grandaddy of them All", the Rose Bowl. The Final Four games are the Orange Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl. The consolation game (for 3rd place) will be at the Sugar Bowl. If you make the Final Four you're guaranteed another game, whether it is for the Championship or 3rd place.
I want to make it clear that this is not what I think should happen if the NCAA were to begin a tournament. This is just for fun. Also, I am not playing as one of the teams. I set up the game and then use the 'Super Sim' ability to go to the end. I will be compiling statistics for every game and reporting on the outcomes. As I said before, the play-ins are completed. Below are the results and also the 16 team field. I hope everyone enjoys this. I am having fun already!

FYI: The Rose Bowl is not played at the Coliseum. It's played at the...Rose Bowl.
