Harry Kalas, YOU Are the Man

As the posts and tributes roll in around the blogosphere, I wanted to highlight two things. First is this remark by Harry on August 9, 2006. Crashburn Alley has the call.

“Chase Utley, you are the man!” Hall of Fame broadcaster Harry Kalas gushed from the booth.

Why was he gushing? Utley scored from second on a routine ground ball. Harry loved hustle.

And second is a move by the classy Shane Victorino, who Franzke noted was the first player to approach the broadcast crew after the news.
