Two Penn State offensive lineman have been among the combine's best thus far. Center A.Q. Shipley and offensive tackle Gerald Cadogan have checked in as "top performers" in events so far. Cadogan, who checked in at 6' 5", 309 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in 5.12 seconds, good for a tie for 4th place amongst all offensive lineman.
Shipley actually broke into two separate "top performer" categories: the bench press and the vertical jump. The Penn State product, who checked in at 6' 1", 304 pounds, tied for 6th in the vertical jump with a height of 31.0 inches. He benched 225 pounds 33 times, good for (a tie for) 4th amongst offensive lineman.
So far Cadogan and Shipley have improved their stock by showing extra bulk but nice explosiveness. They remain 6th round prospects.
I'll have more on the Penn Staters at the combine throughout the week. Stay tuned.
You can view all of the combine's top performers here.
