Penn State Starters Overall Ratings in NCAA Football 10

The new college football game from EA will hit video game stores everywhere Tuesday, July 14. In order to get a head start with one of the new features, EA released the "Team Builder" program online. With "Team Builder" you create a new school from the ground up to compete in the game. Obviously this includes creating players to man your squad with. One of the options to fill out your team is porting over guys from schools around the country. "Team Builder" went live on June 1st, allowing anyone to see the player ratings for this year's game more than a month in advance. Want to know what Penn State team will take the field this fall? Run Up the Score has you covered over at Black Shoe Diaries.

Here's a few of the "big name" players and their overall rating.

  • QB Daryll Clark - 94
  • RB Evan Royster - 93
  • RB Stephfon Green - 88
  • RG Stefen Wisniewski - 91 (will play center this year)
  • DT Jared Odrick - 90
  • LB Navorro Bowman - 93
  • LB Sean Lee - 95
  • FS Drew Astorino - 86
Not too shabby. The WRs and TEs are solid too so the offense - if the offensive line gels - shouldn't miss a beat in '09 on the real field and in 10 on the digital field. The EA guys did a good job of picking up on our weaknesses. The secondary sports the weakest group, the A.J. Wallace is ranked pretty high. They're not convinced that Larry Johnson will find suitable replacements for Josh Gaines, Maurice Evans and Aaron Maybin. They have Jerome Hayes at DE (and rated a very respectable 89) but he'll most likely be the hybrid DE/LB and not a starter. No mention of Jack Crawford, the redshirt freshman who has looked good all spring. Look for him to start at one of the DE spots and be vastly underrated in NCAA Football 10. The starter opposite Hayes in the game - Kevion Latham - checks in at an 80 overall.
