Congrats to the PSU women's volleyball team

This kind of hustle has been rare with PSU football this year.

While so much of the focus on Penn State this fall has been on an underachieving/misbehaving football team, and idiot students who fire beer cans at opposing fans and wear insensitive Halloween costumes, the one feel good story in State College has been overlooked until now. The #3 seed women's volleyball team defeated BYU in 3 games (30-23, 30-15, 30-18) to win the University Park region and advance to the Final Four in Sacramento. This improves the Lady Lions record to 32-2 and marks their first trip to the Final Four since 1999, when they won the national championship. They will face either #2 Nebraska or #10 California on Thursday night. Should they win that, the championship game will be against either #5 USC (who beat Texas to earn a berth) or the winner of #1 Stanford/#8 UCLA on Saturday 12/15.

Many of you may be unfamiliar with volleyball, but the talent of the players plus the teamwork necessary to play well make it a very exciting sport to watch, especially in person. The semifinal game should be televised on either ESPN2 or ESPNU, so I encourage all Penn State fans to check it out.
