Now on to the rewards for the First Round...

Most Valuable Player - Joe McKnight, USC
Least Valuable Player - Rudy Carpenter, Arizona State
Offensive Player - Joe McKnight, USC

Defensive Player - Jeff Owens, Georgia
Clutch Performance - Sam Bradford, Oklahoma
Best Home Field Advantage - Georgia (Sanford Stadium)
Best Game - Clemson vs LSU
Worst Game - Illinois vs Virginia Tech

OK so here are a few reasons behind some of the awards. Joe McKnight was given MVP and OP over Tim Tebow and Rashard Mendenhall because his performance meant most for his team. Jeff Owens earned the DP award because 6 of his 11 tackles were for a loss. Bradford squeaked by Colt David and David Buehler for Clutch Performance as a result of Bradford orchestrating a 10 point comeback in 5 minutes. The Best Game Award was the hardest to give out. Clemson/LSU was double OT but Missouri/USC and Boston College/Oklahoma were great as well. But OT always is special.

So there is Round 1 in a nutshell. I'm having a lot of fun. Hopefully this isn't just a waste and some people are enjoying it. True to stereotype, the SEC is strong with 4 teams in Round 2 (Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, LSU). The ACC is the only conference without a participant in Round 2.

NOTES: If you have no idea what this is about, read this first. Statistics are for team leaders. Fumbles do not necessarily indicate a turnover. The player may have fumbled but the team may have recovered it. Round 1, Part 1 Results here.
