No Night Games in November Confirmed

Though I never got a personal email clarifying the whole "no Big ten night games in November" thing, ESPNs Adam Rittenberg did post on his blog about the odd rule.

According to JaPa's Twitter site, the Big Ten has a "new rule" that prohibits night games in November, which means the league's marquee game for this season, Ohio State at Penn State, will be played during daylight hours on Nov. 7.
Rittenberg had been waiting clarification on the rule. He later got it.

It turns out Jay Paterno was right about no more Big Ten night games in November, but this isn't new ground for the league.

According to Mark Rudner, the Big Ten's associate commissioner for television administration, the Big Ten has a long-standing provision in its TV contracts that no November league games will be moved into prime time.

So there ya go. Little Paterno was right. What a shame, no Ohio State/Penn State prime time action.
